New academic building at 2/4 Bednarska Street

Designed especially for the needs of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, University of Warsaw, the building will be built in the northern part of the plot at 2/4 Bednarska Street.
The main entrance to the building leads through the passage located in Mariensztat Street. Entrances from Dobra Street and Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie Street have also been located in the passage.

General information:
Building plot area – 8,312 m2
Built-up area of the building – 2,786 m2
Area of the building – 8,182 m2
Overall floor area of the building – 11,990 m2 (the overground part – 8,358 m2, the underground part – 3,632 m2)

In accordance with the requirements set by the Capital Conservator of Monuments, the building height cannot exceed 14 meters counting from the ground level in front of the main entrance to the building.

The completed building with a cubic capacity of 39,005 m3 will consist of approximately 1,800 classrooms. It will include:
- 2 auditoria (each up to 200 people),
- 13 lecture halls,
- 9 seminar rooms,
- 3 computer labs,
- research offices,
- cloakroom,
- administrative and technical areas,
- two-level garage.

According to Decision No. 7/ŚRÓ/C1/10 concerning determining the location of a public investment issued on 12 October 2010 by the President of the Capital City of Warsaw, the plot at 2/4 Bednarska Street will be optimally used. The entirety of investment plans has been divided into three stages.
Phase A – is related to the construction of the new academic building herein described.
Phase B – will cover the central part of the plot and will involve the construction of two wings, constituting a continuation of the building to be erected at the end of Phase A. The wings will be two-storey and will be situated in Dobra Street and Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie Street.
Phase C – involves revitalisation of the historic building of the former Teodozja Majewska Baths.
